I.C.C.P PATHFINDER YOUTH CLUB
ICCP Pathfinder youth deserve leadership.
“He who cooperates with the divine purpose by imparting to the youth a knowledge of God and shaping the character in harmony with His does a high and noble work. He awakens a desire to fulfill God’s ideal and provides an education as high as heaven and as broad as the universe.”
This philosophy is an integral part of the club. The Pathfinder Club curriculum of 8 classes and nearly 250 Honors forms the core of the program. The following objectives can be achieved if club leaders strive to realize them. The ICCP Pathfinder Youth Ministries are dedicated to understanding young people and training their youth for leadership and service to humanity. The Pathfinder Club is a church-centered, spiritual-recreational activity program designed for young people aged 6 to 21.
Pathfindering appeals to this age group because the program includes activities that match their needs and interests. A large part of the Pathfinder Club program is built around physical activity. This is because young people between the ages of 6 and 15 are in a phase of rapid physical development. It is filled with action, adventure, challenge, group activities, and offers opportunities for the development of new attitudes and skills that foster personal growth, a sense of teamwork or community, and a sense of loyalty and respect for God, His creation, and His church.
-
Help young people understand that God and His church love them, care for them, and value them.
As Pathfinders are accepted and affirmed, they will begin to appreciate the love of God as revealed through the church and its ministry, and feel the desire to become more involved in its program. -
I truly love the youth.
The only satisfying motive for serving in the Pathfinder Club is love for growing young people. This love will be expressed not so much in words, but in actions. It is easily conveyed to the heart of the Pathfinder when an adult willingly shares their time, energy, and companionship with developing youth. It is clearly understood by the young people through the programs planned for them, and the patient understanding becomes evident when they face challenges. This love will be demonstrated through perseverance, even when the younger ones do not seem to appreciate the guidance given and appear negligent. -
Teach Pathfinders specific skills and hobbies that will make their lives more meaningful and occupy their time with productive accomplishments. Young people experience satisfaction and joy when they create five useful items with their hands — from wood, plastic, steel, clay, felt, and yarn — and when they discover how things work and function.
-
Encourage the Pathfinder to stay physically fit. This is an important way to guard against laziness and boredom. Teach children to take care of their bodies and develop habits that will ensure their future happiness and usefulness.
-
Be optimistic and enthusiastic.
A cheerful and pleasant personality is a great asset for a Pathfinder leader.
ICCP Pathfinder youth deserve strong leadership.
"He who works in harmony with the divine purpose by teaching youth about God and shaping character to align with His does a high and noble work. He inspires a desire to fulfill God’s ideal and provides an education as high as heaven and as broad as the universe." -
A leader must:
-
Enthusiasm is contagious, and boys and girls quickly follow optimistic leadership. The successful leader emphasizes the positive and supports the program with energy and determination.
-
8. Provide opportunities for leadership development by encouraging club members to work together and share leadership responsibilities. This will teach them the lessons of obedience, discipline, resourcefulness, patriotism, and the dynamics of group interaction
-
.9. Strive to promote the harmonious development of the physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual life of the Pathfinder. Strengthening the mind and body, nurturing a selfless spirit, and giving attention to recreational and cultural activities will encourage personal growth and serve as an outlet for that restless energy which so often becomes a destructive source of danger for young people.
